 Summer Camp 2012 Go Back

 

 

Windmill Stables of Spring Park is excited to announce the schedule for our  2012 year of summer camps devoted to the horse enthusiast.  Our camps are divided by ability levels in order to achieve maximum learning and improvement.

We are also offering a 1/2 day camp for those younger riders and beginner riders!

Each session will include a variety of activities including:   Horseback riding, Arts & Crafts, Stable Management, Vet/Nutrition and Safety. Each activity will be tailored to the ability levels of the campers. 

Camp sessions are small to provide as much "one-on-one" instruction as possible.

Space is limited so sign up early!!!

 

   

 

 


SUMMER CAMP 2012 

     (there is a non-refundable deposit of $175 for half day camps)

Beginner Rider ( Basic Horsemanship)

(7:30am-Noon) Half Day June 4 - 8, 2012 ($350)            

For riders who turned 5 years old by January 1, 2012up to the age of 7 . For riders who have no previous riding experience to those with some previous experience at the walk and trot. (Maximum number of students per camp is 8)

(12pm - 4pm) Half Day June 4 - 8, 2012 ($350)            

For riders who turned 8 years old by January 1, 2012 up to the age of 12. For riders who have no previous riding experience to those with some previous experience at the walk and trot. (Maximum number of students per camp is 8)


(7:30am - Noon) Half Day June 11 - 15, 2012 ($350)      
For riders 8 years and older up to 12 years old who have no previous riding experience to those with some previous experience at the walk and trot.  (Maximum number of students per camp is 8)

(12pm - 4pm) Half Day June 11 - 15, 2012 ($350)

For riders 5 years old by January 1, 2012up to the age of 7.  For riders who have no previous riding experience to those with some previous experience at the walk and trot.  (Maximum number of students per camp is 8)

 

This camp will be available if the June camps fill up.

(7:30 - Noon) Half Day July 9 - 13, 2012 ($350)

For riders 5 years old by January 1, 2012up to the age of 7.  For riders who have no previous riding experience to those with some previous experience at the walk and trot.  (Maximum number of students per camp is 8)

 

***At the end of the camp session, a small show will be held so the campers can show off their new skills and abilities to friends and family. ***

   There is a non-refundable deposit of $225 for the full day camps

                                             Intro to Jumping Camp

                                           Juun 18 - 22, 2012 (8am - 4pm) Full Day ($450)

Open to riders who have reached their 8th birthday by January 01, 2012 and are able to walk, trot and canter a horse with control and who have learned 2 point. This camp will be an introduction to Jumping.  It will prepare those who wish to learn more about jumping and it will give an introduction to those who have never experienced the sport.  We will be practicing 18' cross rails up to 2' parallel rails.  We will also be concentrating on the skill and decision making required of Show Jumping.  Rules of the sport will be learned in conjunction with the practices.  If the instructor decides to take one day during camp to go off property to a schooling facility there will be additional charges for a ground fee at the facilities and a small hauling fee not included in your camp fee.

                                        Basic Eventing Camp

                                           June 25 - 29, 2012 (8am - 4pm) Full Day ($450)

Open to riders who have reached their 8th birthday by January 01, 2012 and are at least able to walk, trot and canter with control and who have learned jumping basics (D2 level and up pony clubbers). This camp will be an introduction to Eventing.  It will prepare those who wish to learn more about Eventing and it will give an introduction to those who have never experienced the sport.  We will be practicing all three phases ((Dressage, Cross Country & Show Jumping) and we will also be concentrating on the skill and decision making required of Show Jumping.  Rules of the sport will be learned in conjunction with the practices. We will take one day during camp and go to a cross country facility to school. There will be a ground fee and a small hauling fee associated with this activity which is not included in your camp fee.
