Thanks for visiting Windmill Stables. These rules keep our students, boarders, and horses safe. Please review them before your visit.

Safety Requirements

Rules for All Visitors

These rules apply to everyone at Windmill Stables. Please follow them to keep the barn safe for all.

General Safety Rules

  • All persons under 18 must wear secure headgear while handling or riding horses, including tacking, grooming, and feeding
  • Anyone jumping obstacles must wear protective headgear regardless of age
  • All persons in barn areas must wear closed-toe shoes or boots appropriate for working around horses
  • Proper riding attire required: FEI/ASTM approved helmet, breeches/jodhpurs or chaps, and paddock boots

Facility Guidelines

  • No foul language, excessive noise, or commotion allowed
  • Do not pet or feed any animal other than your own for safety and health reasons
  • No smoking, drugs, or alcoholic beverages permitted on property
  • Children under 16 must have adult supervision except during scheduled lessons

Riding and Arena Rules

  • Arenas are available for riding, but preference given to scheduled lessons
  • Check lesson schedule or ask instructors about arena availability
  • Only Windmill Stables instructors may teach lessons on property
  • Riders under 18 must be supervised when jumping obstacles

Required Documentation

  • All boarders must complete boarding agreement, fee agreement, liability releases, and medical forms
  • All riders must sign riding agreement and liability release before first lesson
  • Visitors and guests must sign appropriate releases and follow all barn rules
